Welcome to Little Light of Mine Doula!

My name is Iman and over the past decade I have supported families in the Washington, DC area through pregnancy, birth, early postpartum and loss. I have had the honor of being present to over 100 births and hours of postpartum support.

It is my aim to for you to feel seen, cared for, and supported with the information and gentle pauses to make informed decisions that work best for you and your family.

Our time together is designed for us to dive deeper into your preferences and desires in preparation for birth and postpartum then being a continuous presence support throughout your birth and continued support for the first few weeks after your little one arrives.

“Iman was wonderful! Having her there helped keep both my partner and I focused. Her support prior to, during labor, and in the postpartum room was invaluable. I would highly recommend her for anyone wanting to have some extra support during labor.”

“Iman was absolutely essential to our mental well being during our birth journey. We had so many twists and turns and surprises, and ended up with a lengthy induction process. We were able to count on Iman before during and after the birth of son. Even with my husband and sister helping, her help was critical to me remaining clear headed and resilient in the face of all the unexpected decisions. She allowed us to have peace of mind during the entire process something we absolutely needed.”

“She was super open and calm and this made us trust her since the beginning. She was available always for a call or message, and helped us answer every little question we had. She guided us through a rehearsal birth. This gave us a lot of confidence and tranquility before and during the birth of our child. She also gave us very good insight on our alternative during the birth.
